CLOSE CONTEST

“I’m happy we won. The game was very close and the officiating was unfair especially towards the end,” said Ghana coach Alhaji Tahir. Ghana alleged that Kenya had fielded ineligible players. Kenyan fielded players from Mount Kenya University’s Kitale Campus who won last year’s edition of Kenya University Sports Association games.

In women’s category, Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) beat rivals Masinde Muliro University 2-0 at the same venue, with goals from Neddy Atieno and Essie Akida.

Masinde Muliro have a chance to avenge the loss on Monday. No other teams entered the competition.
