"David Owino is a pensioner. He has signed with Napsa Stars for two years. Welcome," read a post on Napsa Stars' website on Saturday.

Owino, who previously turned out for record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia, has joined Napsa from Ndola-based seven time Zambian champions Zesco United.

Owino left Zesco United on December 31, 2020 following expiry of his contract. He won five league titles, three Absa Cup Championships and three shield honours with Zesco.

At Napsa, he will link up with former K'Ogalo striker Timothy Otieno and goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji and former Mathare United midfielder Andrew Tololwa.

Napsa are currently 16th in the 18-team ZSL with seven points, 13 behind leaders Prison Leopards.  The team has played seven matches, four less than other teams.

Coincidentally, Gor have been paired with Napsa in the Caf Confederation Cup play-offs with K'Ogalo hosting the first leg on February 14 while the return leg will be played on February 21.

The 32-year-old defender has been training with K'Ogalo's since the expiry of his contract with Zesco United.

"This is my home and I am always welcome here all the time. I have been training with them to keep fit as I work on getting a new team," Owino told this scribe during a training session at Camp Toyoyo on January 4.

Owino joined K'Ogalo in 2011 from now defunct Karuturi Sports. He won two league titles, one domestic cup and KPL Top 8 during his three-year stint at Gor.
