Struggling Nairobi City Stars will be out to post their first win of the season when they host Bandari at the City Stadium Wednesday evening in one of the three mid-week league fixtures.

At the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru, rock bottom side Nakuru All Stars will also attempt to post a maiden Kenyan Premier League win this term when they face an out of form Muhoroni Youth.

Stars, under the tutelage of Ugandan coach Paul Nkata, have flattered to deceive, blowing hot and cold in their three losses but the Ugandan coach wants his charges to play as a unit if they are to get their first three points.

NARROW LOSS

On Sunday, Nkata's charges went down 2-1 to giants Tusker despite putting up a strong performance late in the game. Joseph Sakwa came off the bench to half the deficit with stunning strike in the 69th minute, but it was too little, too late to salvage them a point.

“Our preparations have been good but we have fallen short in scoring. We have made a lot of mistakes in defence which we must rectify,” he said.

“It’s going to be a very tough match against them (Bandari). They want a win and we also want the points.”

Nkata, who took charge of the re-admitted side this term from Nigerian Robinson Ofwoku, blamed their slow start to life in top tier competition to inexperience.

Stars face a tough opposition in the Dockers, who have suffered just one defeat in four matches, picking seven points on the trot to climb up to third on the log.
