Anthony Van Dyck (Ryan Moore 6-4), became the 30th different Classic winner for Aidan O'Brien in Britain and Ireland since the start of 2010 when announcing his arrival at Epsom. He could double up in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh today.

The Irish Derby meeting also brings together O'Brien's favourite course for introducing a Classic horse.

IRISH CLASSICS

The master of Ballydoyle has won 40 British and Irish Classics since the start of 2010 and, unsurprisingly, the home of Irish racing has been the starting point for the largest number of his aces. Of 30 individual winners in that period, 12 had their first race at the track.

In an unusual move Coolmore supremo John Magnier ,came to the rescue of each-way punters by declaring Il Paradiso, to guarantee a field of eight.
Magnier was keen to ensure enough horses went to post for bookmakers to pay three places each-way on the Curragh Classic.
The flashy colt, who wears cheek pieces, will be ridden by Wayne Lordan.

THREE TIMES

Donnacha O'Brien, successful on Latrobe last year, rides Broome. Seamie Heffernan, who has won the race three times and who rode Anthony Van Dyck at Epsom, rides Norway. Padraig Beggy sits on Sovereign.

Kevin Manning has a decent shot on Guaranteed, and, Madhmoon with Chris Hayes, could shake the lot of them. Rakan has Jim crowley, but not one to talk about at 20-1.

In contrast, the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Handicap, has attracted sixteen runners. It is a tough race to boot, with no common denominators with regards to trainers and jockeys.
