Syokimau bound train stalls at Makadara

On the same day that Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) and Rift Valley Railways (RVR) were forced to eat humble pie and offer commuters a free rides as apology, the Syokimau train once again stalled a few minutes after leaving the station.

According to a commuter, the train spluttered to a halt a few minutes after setting off.

Technicians arrived at the scene and managed to get the train back on course albeit at slow speed making abrupt stops.

At Makadara, the train stopped with an announcement being made that the train was being stopped to make way for an oncoming one from Mombasa to pass.

However, there was no oncoming train and passengers were left wondering if the announcement was just to hoodwink them.

The first train that leaves the station at 5:50pm, serves commuters from the populous eastlands, making stops at Makadara and Imara Daima before arriving at Syokimau.
