Court strikes out papers filed in Kirima family case

A judge on Thursday struck out documents filed by former MP Gerishon Kirima’s children after ruling that their lawyer had no evidence to prove that he had been hired by the troubled family.
The lawyer, Mr Innocent Muganda, was ordered to file a letter of appointment on Thursday.
Denying her access
The court also directed Mr Kirima’s son, Wanjau Kirima, his brother Stephen Kirima, psychiatrist Frank Njenga and Dr David Oluoch to file their replies afresh by August 30.
Lady Justice Roselyn Wendoh made the ruling after lawyer David Oyatta, who is representing Mr Kirima’s third wife, Ms Teresia Wairimu, said the lawyer representing the four “was not properly on record”.
In the case, Ms Wairimu has accused her step-sons and the two doctors of denying her access to her husband. The case, which was certified urgent, will be heard on August 31.
Separately, one of the ailing real estate tycoon’s sons has asked all occupants and tenants of his father’s property to pay fees and rent to the offices of Kirima and Sons at K&S building in Nairobi.
Mr John Kirima made the announcement in an advertisement in the Daily Nation on Thursday . He also said that he was the sole person who should append his signature on the receipts.
Mr Kirima’s family members are embroiled in a dispute over the management of his vast estate.
