Shakombo to lead group against poll push

Members of the Jubilee coalition in Mombasa County Sunday launched a campaign to counter the push for a referendum by Cord and governors.
They said the clamour for the referendum was a scheme by some Cord leaders to resuscitate their political careers.
“The Okoa Kenya and Pesa Mashinani push for referendum is a ploy by Cord leaders to have an avenue for political relevance,” said Likoni MP Suleiman Shakombo during the launch of the movement at Palm Tree Hotel.

The group faulted governors for demanding more money, saying most of them had not accounted for what they had received from the national government.
