Deputy President William Ruto is facing expulsion from Jubilee for storming the party headquarters, the party announced Friday.

Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju said in a statement that DP Ruto’s fate now lies with the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

On Thursday the DP stormed Jubilee headquarters and  held a boardroom meeting without notice with more than 20 MPs and senators allied to his Tangatanga faction of the ruling party.

Mr Tuju said on Friday that the DP has been banned from using Jubilee headquarters for campaign meetings.

Mr Tuju accused Ruto of "rallying and parading defiant members against party leader to the facility."

"It is no longer tenable for the DP to use the party platform to advance his divisive so-called hustler politics that are counter to the party and the President's platform of uniting the country and fighting corruption," Mr Tuju said.
