Martha Karua sues Kuria over claims she 'fixed' Ruto in ICC case

Narc-Kenya party leader Martha Karua has sued Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria for defamation over claims that she "fixed" Deputy President William Ruto in the International Criminal Court (ICC) case.
She wants Kuria stopped from making further comments and to compensate her for damaging her reputation.
Ms Karua had on Monday given the Gatundu South MP a 24-hour ultimatum to apologise for making "false and malicious allegations" against her or face court action.
Mr Kuria claimed to have been part of a meeting with Ms Karua that came up with fake allegations and witnesses to influence investigations and the subsequent trial of Mr Ruto at the ICC.
POST-POLL VIOLENCE
He alleged that he was part of a team, including Ms Karua, that wrote to the ICC detailing who should be investigated for crimes against humanity arising from the 2007-2008 post-poll violence.
The MP claimed that together, they had recruited people to testify against Mr Ruto. Ms Karua denies the allegation, saying she was not involved in the investigations by the ICC in Kenya.
On Wednesday, a defiant Mr Kuria dared Ms Karua to go to court over the matter.
He said Ms Karua was the de facto leader of the Party of National Unity (PNU) when it was prosecuting its case before the Kriegler commission.
“The witnesses presented to Kriegler to show that PNU won were referred to me by Karua. She told me to secure accommodation for them,” said Mr Kuria.
