Govt orders teachers to resume duty on Tuesday

Education cabinet secretary Jacob Kaimenyi has ordered teachers to resume duty on Tuesday morning or risk disciplinary action.
Mr Kaimenyi also said the government will start the process of recruiting new teachers on Friday in a move to reduce the burden on existing teachers.
Mr Kaimenyi gave the order after the government and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) failed to reach an agreement over salary rise.
