The High Court in Nakuru has jailed for life five men accused of killing a 65-year-old woman over claims that she practiced witchcraft.

Justice Maureen Odero said the prosecution had proved that the five killed Ms Ann Wanjiku, who was their neighbour.

Ms Wanjiku was lynched by a mob in Kisumu Ndogo Village in Kipipiri, Nyandarua County, on June 5, 2010.

Witnesses who testified said John Karia, John Nganga, Peter Matheri, Anthony Macharia and Simon Njuguna attacked the woman with blunt objects, killing her on the spot.
