Pop star Madonna has revealed that she enjoyed a brief relationship with rapper Tupac Shakur in 1994. This was two years before he was killed.

Tupac was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, that led to his death six days later on September 13, 1996. The murder remains unsolved.

Referring to a specific interview she did with chat show host David Letterman, she told SiriusXM's Howard Stern that the show’s host got her riled up and that she was dating Tupac at the time.

Stern asked Madonna whether she liked Letterman or just felt annoyed with him, to which she responded that that was how she flirted with people but admitted that in one incident, she was really mad at him and used the F-word a lot.

“I was in a weird mood that day. I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time and the thing is he got me all riled up about life in general. So when I went on the show I was feeling very gangsta."

This conversation confirms speculation that has been rife that the two once dated. The "Like a Virgin" hit maker had previously not confirmed that they dated.

Madonna was once married to Sean Penn and later to Guy Ritchie and recently revealed that she would “never say never” to getting married again.

Madonna has sold more than 300 million records worldwide.

The Guinness World Records acknowledged her as the best-selling female recording artist and the fourth best-selling act of all time, behind The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.
