Sh7m iPads bought for ward leaders

The county assembly has spent Sh7 million to acquire iPads for 87 ward representatives and senior officers.

The county assembly members travelled to Kisumu for training on the use of the gadgets.

A consultant had been hired to conduct the training, he added.

“We are switching our activities and operations to a paperless system when transacting our day-to-day business at the assembly,” he said.

The assembly was coming up with a new system to improve services, he added.

Further, a five-year strategic plan prepared by a consultant would be discussed at the workshop before being presented to the public for scrutiny.
