Jilted woman charged with stabbing lover's girlfriend

A 20-year-old woman who stabbed her lover’s girlfriend claimimng that she had snatch him from her was charged with causing grievous harm.

Catherine Njeri Wanjiru is accused of injuring Sharon Iminza Malela outside their boyfriend Alvin Jumba Mitsami’s house in Zimmerman estate, Kasarani, Nairobi on January 4.

She is charged alongside Mitsami.

But Wanjiru claimed the victim had turned up at Mitsami’s house with three men to attack them for cohabiting while Mitsami was dating her (victim).

Mitsami had telephoned Malela to summon her to his house where she found Wanjiru waiting for her with a knife. A commotion ensued as Mitsami restrained Wanjiru from stabbing Malela and she fled.

Wanjiru later pursued Malela along the stairs and allegedly stabbed her on the back where she sustained serious injuries. The victim was rushed to hospital where she was admitted in serious condition.
