Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Secretary General Junet Mohammed has retained his Suna East Parliamentary seat, according to IEBC final tally.

According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) votes tally, Mr Mohamed garnered 26,516 votes ahead of Mr Okumu Elias of Democratic Action Party - Kenya (DAP-K) who got 4,978 votes.

Patrick Odipo of Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) Party polled 4,808 while Odhiambo Elijah (Independent) polled 2,266 votes.

Others are independent candidates Samuel Amima (1,280) and Hassan Bashir (686).

Mr Mohamed spent most of his time campaigning for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga. He was the de facto master of ceremony in most of the campaign rallies by the coalition, denying him an opportunity to campaign for himself in the parliamentary race.

His wife Faiza Deka Jamaa was spotted on several occasions campaigning for the MP, who will be doing his third term.
