Gunmen attack police station in Mandera

Gunmen attacked Fino police station in Lafey sub-county, Mandera county on Friday.
Two police officers were shot in the ensuing exchange of gunfire.
The two were left with bullets lodged in the stomach and hand respectively.
Police eventually managed to repulse the attackers.
Fino is located south west of Mandera town and is a few kilometres to the border with Somalia.
The area has been the target of cross-border attacks by the Somalia Islamist group Al-Shabaab.
