Three injured in Kakamega-Nandi border clashes

Three people have been injured in clashes between two communities along the Kakamega-Nandi County border.

The clashes erupted on Friday night after villagers in Ikoli, Kakamega County accused some Nandi villagers of trespassing into their grazing fields.

Kakamega North sub-county police commander Peter Mwanzo said the communities attacked each other with arrows during the confrontation.

"Police officers have been deployed in the affected border area to restore calm. Tension is still high but we are doing everything possible to contain the situation," said Mr Mwamzo.

The injured are hosptialised at Makava Sub-County Hospital, one of them is reported to be in serious condition.
