Mombasa Sports Club (MSC) have signed nine new players to boost their chances of winning the National Women Hockey Super League title.

MSC team have already played two matches against Swan which they won 5-0 and 3-0 to sit top of the league standings.

MSC captain Brenda Wangila said their main goal is to win this season's Super League crown. 

"We’ve been participating in this league for many years and are tired of remaining here. We want to do well this time aiming to secure promotion to the Premier League next season," said Wangila.

The nine new players include four from St John's Girls Kaloleni High School namely Zahra Nakaya, Hadia Haki, Alice Jokeyo and Dorah Jokeyo.

Other new recruits are Purity Moraa from Pwani University, Yvonne Chemutai, Salma Njeri (Technical University of Mombasa), Terry Nyabwa (St Charles Lwanga) and Charleyn Sydney (Lakers Club, Kisumu).

Wangila believes under the guidance of coach Charles Norbetus Otieno, MSC will become the only Mombasa and Coast women's hockey team to participate in the Premier League.
