Thierry Henry’s men needed two unanswered goals against the Honduran side to advance to the semi-finals and not 1-0 as earlier reported after losing the first leg 2-1 in Montreal on March 11.

On a bad night for Major League Soccer (MLS) teams at Exploria Stadium in Orlando after New York City FC was destroyed 4-0 by Mexican Tigres UANL, the Canadian side dictated proceedings in both halves of the return leg.

However, Montreal managed just one goal scored by Amar Sejdic in the 57th minute. The German midfielder shot from outside the area after the Honduran side's defence poorly cleared a cross from the right from defender Zachary Brault-Guillard.

With the defeat, and the aggregate score 2-2, Olimpia sealed the ticket to the semi-finals where they will face Tigres who thrashed New York City on 5-0 aggregate after dominating the second leg with goals from Christian Gignac, Leonardo Fernandez, Rafael Carioca and Ignacio Aquino.

Two more quarter-final matches are slated for Wednesday when Club America (Mexico) tackles Atlanta United (MLS) as Los Angeles FC (MLS) clash with Cruz Azul (Mexico).

Semi-finals will be held on December 19 with the final set for December 22. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all matches are being held at the Exploria Stadium behind closed doors.
