Two senior police officers killed in Kiambu road crash

Two Directorate of Criminal Investigation senior officers died and their colleague injured after they were involved in a road crash on Saturday morning.
The officers had left the DCI headquarters for Bondo, Siaya County where they were to attend the burial of Mr Maurice Amatta, who was the head of Forensic Investigations.
Nairobi County Traffic commandant Edward Mwamburi said the accident occurred along Kiambu road at around 4am.
“We have not established the actual cause of the accident but investigations have been launched. The two died on the spot while the third officer is admitted in hospital,” he said.
The deceased officers were of the rank of Chief Inspector and Inspector respectively. The officer who survived, also a Chief Inspector, was attached to the Scenes of Crime Unit at the headquarters.
