Nigerian contestant Kevin Chuwang walked away with $200,000 (Sh15 million) after emerging the winner of the Big Brother Africa reality show.

After 91 days and 24 contestants having been evicted, Kevin was the last man standing on Sunday night.

And with this, the 27-year-old left the Big Brother house in Johannesburg, South Africa, not just Sh15 million richer but he also earned an extra $3,000 from his money pot which every contestant received.

It was a tension filled final few hours when just Kevin and Emma were left in the house holding each others hands. But the chants of Kevin!” by the crowd and even Emma may have eased it for the Nigerian as the winner was just about to be mentioned.

After his name was called out by the show’s host, IK Osakioduwa, Kevin fell to the ground and covered himself with his country’s flag as Emma congratulated him.

When he finally composed himself, the Nigerian, asked how he felt after winning said; “I feel like Obama,” he said to rapturous cheers.

“I was made for TV, I was born to do this,” he told the crowd. “You are going to see a lot of me in your faces. Thank you for believing in me. I won’t let you down,” he promised.

He becomes the fourth winner of the highly successful Big Brother Africa franchise which runs on Dstv.

Past winners were, Cherise Makubale from Zambia, Richard Dyle Bezuidenhout from Tanzania and Ricardo “Ricco” Venancio from Angola. Kenya was represented by former radio host Teddy Muthusi and Jeremy Ndirangu, a university student.

Muthusi was the first to be eliminated after just one week while Ndirangu survived for 56 days.
