Heads of top schools awarded

Mr Khaemba

Principals of best performing schools are among personalities who were awarded commendations by President Kibaki for their dedication to nation building. They include Alliance Boys, Mang'u and Precious Blood, Riruta.

Alliance's Christopher Situma Khaemba has been recognised for his tremendous contribution towards the development of education throughout his career. He served in the Kenya Air Force between 1981 and 1983 and later became a teacher at the school in 1984.

Mrs Gladwell Nyambura Mungai of Precious Blood was awarded for her contributions towards education particularly in improving performance in the school she is heading. She has made it among the best in the country just like her colleague at Mang'u High School, Mr Paul Ogali Otula. 

They have all been awarded the Head of State’s Commendation (HSC - Civilian Division) 

At the primary school level, the same honours were given to the headmistress of Olympic Primary School in Kibera, Nairobi, Ms Anna Njoki Ng’ang’a, for the school's sterling performance over the years.

The same recognition has gone to Mr Peterson Kariuki Muthathai, a career teacher who is the senior principal and president of African Convention of Principals (ACP) and also national chairman of Kenya Secondary School Heads Association.
