22 teachers kicked out over sex

Twenty-two teachers who had sex with their students have been banned from ever teaching in Kenya.
They are Patrick Kayombia, Gibson Makini, Joseph Kimeli, Charles Nderitu, Benson John Onyango, Naftali Onyango, Peter Nderitu Gakubu, Wellington Oyaya N, Lamech Bosire Mbeta, William Kipkorisi Mutai, Lawrence Nkari, Benson Owuor O, Dennis Maluche, Peter Wenani, Ayub O. Barasa, Jairus Maithya, Moses Kimathi, Sammy Wilson Ndeta, Duke Marisa, Enock Simiyu, Justus O. Odoyo and Francis Nyamboga.
The teachers, all men, were investigated between 2014-2015 by the disciplinary committee of the Teachers Service Commission.
They are not allowed to teach even in private schools. Director of teacher management, Mary Rotich said anyone who hires such teachers will be jailed for two years and or fined Sh100,000.
Last year another 126 teachers were deregistered due to misconduct in which 100 had sexual relations with their students.
