Regular paraffin wax treatments will leave your hands soft and silky.

Your hands are your next most noticeable feature after your face. Being this visible, they reveal a lot about you. It is often said that you can tell a woman’s age by simply looking at her hands. It is possible to maintain beautiful, feminine hands by treating them well.

Hands are subject to a lot of wear and tear because of the work they do. Harsh detergents and neglect all take a toll on them, causing premature aging and dryness.

Ensure that you moisturise your hands using hand cream immediately after you remove them from water. Apart from this, you can give your hands a boost by having regular paraffin wax treatments.

This treatment uses specially enriched wax to soften and tighten the skin on your hands. Monica Ngonyo, a beauty therapist at Nikirush Salon, demonstrated this procedure. The wax is melted and a few drops of essential oils are added. The hands are then immersed in the warm wax until they are fully coated.

They are removed and wrapped with polythene for a few minutes, before the wax is peeled off. The warming effect opens the pores, allowing the skin to soak up the precious oils, after which the skin is slathered with a deep-penetrating emollient cream.

The result is extremely soft and silky hands. The effect of this treatment lasts one week and it may be carried out on its own, or incorporated in manicure treatments.
