Kibera youth protest against demolition of kiosks

Rioting youth Friday morning burnt tyres and blocked the road near Nakumatt Prestige on Gong Road to protest the demolition of their kiosks by the Nairobi County Inspectorate officers.
The structures, located near Kibera, were demolished Thursday night by the officers, who said the sheds were built without approval.
Kilimani police boos Peter Kattam said the kiosk owners blocked the road but there was no destruction of property.
“We have contained the situation and traffic flow is back to normal,” he said.
