A 16-year-old boy was Sunday murdered in Matopeni in Kayole after he was allegedly found talking to another man’s lover.

Sharrif Omondi is said to have been beaten by three men who are well known to him, after he was found speaking with a woman near a local kiosk at around 10pm.

His brother Shadrack Ochieng said that his brother had just arrived from a restaurant where he worked as a waiter.

“He just entered the house, dropped off his jacket and said that he needed to get something to eat,” Mr Ochieng said.

He said as he was in the house waiting for his brother, a neighbour knocked on the door of their house and told him that his brother had been beaten and that he was lying near the shop.

“I went to the scene. He was on the ground, bleeding from his nose and was unconscious and there were several people surrounding him,” Mr Ochieng said.

Omondi had several other bruises on other parts of his body.

ESCAPED AFTER BEATING HIM

The three men escaped after beating up the teenager, it was reported.

He was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital by Good Samaritans and on arrival, he was pronounced dead.

Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno said police went to Mama Lucy Hospital and found the body of the teen lying on the floor.

“The body had injuries inflicted by a blunt object around his neck and on the head,” Mr Nuno said, adding that the police had begun investigations into the incident that has angered the residents of Matopeni.

Mr Nuno said no one had been arrested in connection with the murder but added those who committed the crime were well-known residents and that police were pursuing them.

Mr Ochieng said that on Monday, the morning after the incidence, one of the suspects, who he said was a neighbour, was in his house but escaped when police came to arrest him.

Omondi, according to his brother, moved to Nairobi in June 2014 to look for casual employment after his parents were unable to raise money to pay for his school fees.

He had been working at a restaurant since July 2014.
