Schneider Electric unveils green premium products and solutions for Kenyan customers

Driven by the desire to provide transparent information on hazardous substances, environmental impact and end-of-life instructions, Schneider Electric has unveiled its Green Premium ecolabel, a programme that underlines the company’s commitment to delivering the best and safest sustainable performance to customers.

Schneider Electric believes that ambitious environmental considerations must be embedded in all of a company’s products in order to tackle global warming.

 The firm has been committed to playing a key role in the challenges the world is facing by developing innovative technologies that help customers find the right balance between reducing their carbon footprint and providing access to reliable and efficient energy for all.

Green Premium brings improved resource efficiency throughout an asset’s lifecycle. This includes efficient use of energy and natural resources, along with the minimization of CO2 emissions.

 Speaking at the 7th Annual Clean Energy Conference organised by the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Carol Koech, Country President at Schneider Electric East Africa said:

 Green Premium includes eco-designed products, services and solutions that help achieve new levels of sustainable performance. The programme was created to provide customers with greener, more efficient products by ensuring compliance with the most ambitious standards globally including REACh, RoHS, RoHS China, and WEEE; Green Premium also provides complete environmental disclosure with over 300 EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations)

 Schneider Electric’s commitment to sustainability influences the design of products and solutions along the supply chain and with partners. Schneider Electric is investing in and empowering its local partners in Kenya and East Africa to ensure that products available in-country are both sustainable and optimise total cost of ownership though technologies like the Internet-of-Things and circular services.
