Hotpoint Appliances and LG East Africa, two brands renowned for delivering cutting-edge electronic appliances to customers across East Africa, are celebrating 35 years of partnership. As they look to the future, both companies are promising to introduce more intelligent and innovative products next year.

The two brands recently hosted a joint golf and networking dinner event on October 11 at Sigona Golf Club. The event highlighted the strength of their partnership and allowed customers and stakeholders to experience some of their latest products. Hotpoint Appliances CEO Ravi Kanani emphasised the durability of the relationship, stating: “This partnership has endured for over three decades because Hotpoint and LG focus on the value we can add to each other.”

Mr Kanani said that Hotpoint and LG were always looking at bringing in the newest and latest technologies into the market. “Whatever the global best practices are out there, we already have them here…” he stressed, and added: “LG comes in with their global expertise and products, and then we come with our local support and back-up, and together we offer the customers a strong proposition.”

The choice of a golfing event was a win for the two firms and their customers. Themed, “Business solutions in every swing”, the event provided a good opportunity to network and build relationships. “We see business as relationships, and golf is a great way to build those connections.” said LG East Africa Managing Director Dong Won Lee.

Non-golfers also enjoyed the event, taking lessons at the golf academy, while attendees explored an exhibit of select LG and Hotpoint products, gaining insights into the latest offerings

Established in 1984, Hotpoint Appliances has grown to become one of Kenya’s leading distributors of appliances and electronics. The company operates 12 retail stores across the country and serves multiple channels, including B2B, HVAC, and online sales.

“We are one of the market leaders in retail through Naivas, Quickmart and Carrefour stores nationwide,” Mr Kanani noted. “But we also have our specialty stores. Our flagship store at Sarit Centre, spanning over 16,000 square feet, is the largest specialty electronics store in East Africa. Whatever you need, you can find it at Hotpoint.”

He then promises: “Next month, we will have robotic vacuum cleaners in Kenya, and this is driven by market demand.”

Hotpoint invites customers to visit any of their 12 retail stores or explore amazing deals online at www.hotpoint.co.ke. With special offers on select products launching soon, it’s a perfect opportunity to upgrade to some of the latest and most innovative appliances on the market.

Hotpoint, known for its deep understanding of the East African market, is by far LG’s longest-serving distributor. This partnership reflects Hotpoint’s dedication to delivering quality products and exceptional service. Over the years, Hotpoint has built a reputation for providing customers with not just products but also comprehensive support and expert guidance, ensuring that every customer experience is seamless from purchase to post-sale care.

And LG is also introducing a new air conditioning technology. The LG Multi V5 system is scheduled for introduction in Africa next year. At the heart of LG products is innovation aimed at maximising customer value. The LG Multi V5 system is designed for comfort, convenience, and a clean environment, as stressed by Barrack Onyango, the LG East Africa design engineer and technical trainer.

Head of Commercial Air Conditioning (CAC) at LG Electronics East Africa Erick Bett, adds that the company provides a wide range of products suitable for residential houses, offices, hotels, hospitals, and schools.

The LG Multi V5, he says, “has not only been tested internally, but has also been certified by bodies such as the Eurovent Certification and the North American AHRI Standards, and the German TUV Rheinland”. He goes on: “These external bodies certify the performance of our systems against the standards in the market.”

Hotpoint ensures that these trained local technicians provide professional installation and next-day delivery for the system.

Hotpoint and LG are extending these 35th-anniversary celebrations with exclusive discounts in November and December, making it a great time for customers to experience their most innovative products.
