Quick brief on CAADP: The AU initiative to boost agricultural productivity in Africa
Sponsored by African Union
The Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) is an African Union initiative aimed at increasing investments and providing a suitable environment for productivity in the agricultural sector in Africa.
The main priorities are to extend the area of cropland and pasture; ensure that there is sustainability of land management and reliable water control systems; improve rural infrastructure; and access to domestic and international trade.
CAADP was also designed to halt the hunger crisis by increasing food supply and improving quick responses to food emergencies.
