Former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo has been re-appointed chairman of the board of the Athi Water Services Board.

Mr Ndolo’s appointment by Water minister Charity Ngilu was announced through last week’s edition of the Kenya Gazette, the government’s weekly bulletin. He will chair the board for three years starting Friday.

Lost parliamentary race

Mr Ndolo’s appointment comes eight weeks after he lost his attempt to regain the parliamentary seat he lost to former Nairobi mayor Dick Wathika in the 2007 General Election.

He had filed a petition that had Mr Wathika’s election nullified, but suffered yet another loss when Mike ‘Sonko’ Mbuvi beat him and Mr Wathika in the September 20 by-election.

Mr Ndolo was appointed chairman of the board early this year and automatically lost his job when he started campaigns to get back the seat he had originally won in 2002.

The law requires that civil servants seeking elective positions resign.
