Ndaragwa MP Francis Nderitu's bodyguard was shot dead on Monday night near the Kariobangi roundabout on Outer Ring Road.
Police said unknown gunmen shot Sergeant Daniel Mwangi twice in the chest.
The gunmen did not steal anything from him, including a pistol he was carrying.
Starehe Division Criminal Investigation Officer Kiberenge Seronei said the bodyguard was in his personal car heading to Kasarani estate, where he resides.
