Reinstated Embu Governor Martin Nyaga Wambora has brushed aside threats by the County Assembly to impeach him again.

Mr Wambora shrugged off fears he would have a difficult time working with the county assembly, saying he had “hit the ground running.”

“There is no time to waste and we should all abide by the court decision. Let us join hands for a better of Embu,” he said.

He was speaking in Naivasha on the sidelines of a governors’ meeting sponsored by Danida.

The meeting was told that county governments would get a Sh6.3 billion grant from Danida to improve health care.

Council of Governors chairman Isaac Ruto said the money would be channelled through the Treasury.

“The grant will greatly improve healthcare in the counties,” Mr Ruto said and allayed fears that doctors were resigning from counties.

“In my Bomet backyard, six doctors have left but I have received 11 from other areas.”

Danida official Rhodah Njuguna said the money would be released in tranches and that said Sh10 billion would have been sent to the counties in 10 years.
