The government has announced plans to reduce excise duty for electric vehicles from 20 per cent to 10 percent in a bid  to boost manufacturing and adoption of electric vehicles in the country.

Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority also announced Thursday that it will cap the price for public charging and battery swapping stations.

Operators will display the price and all its components at all stations.
