The county government of Elgeyo Marakwet has dispatched admission letters to 25 students who are bound for Tampere Institute of Science and Technology in Finland following a scholarship agreement between the institution and the university. The students who will pursue Bachelor's in Nursing were drawn from all areas in the county after a rigorous vetting exercise which involved interviews and aptitude tests. According to governor Alex Tolgos, the county suffers high levels of youth unemployment, and the gesture will go along to solve it. He said the institution has signed an agreement to take in a number of students on an annual basis.
