Homeboyz, Nondies record first wins as Kenya Cup breaks

Homeboyz and Nondescripts chalked the first wins of the season on Saturday as Kenya Cup takes a two-week break for Christmas and New Year festivities.

The 2016 Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar and Menengai Oilers won their fourth consecutive bonus point matches to go to the break at the top of the league with 20 points each.

Homeboyz handed Kenya Harlequin their first defeat this season, beating them 23-13 at their RFUEA backyard, while Strathmore Leos also suffered first loss of the season, going down to Nondies 22-15 at the Ngong Racecourse.

Kabras Sugar battled to beat stubborn hosts Impala Saracens 24-12 at the Impala Sports Club as Oilers beat Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) 30-19 in Kakamega.

Visitors Blak Blad from Kenyatta University forced Nakuru to a 10-10 draw at the Nakuru Athletics Club.
The match between defending champions KCB Rugby and Mwamba was postponed after one of the teams was hit by Covid-19 cases.

Kabras Sugar stayed at the top on better aggregate despite having similar points with Oilers, while Strathmore Leos still got a bonus point from the defeat by Nondies to remain third in the log with 16 points.

Quins also stayed fourth with 13 points after the loss to Homeboyz and are followed by KCB Rugby in fifth place with nine points. Quins have three wins and a loss.
