The 25th edition of the African Men’s Senior Handball Nations Cup has been moved to June 22-July 2 in Morocco.

This is after Confederation of Africa Handball (CAHB), in a letter addressed to national federations of participating teams, called off the event that was scheduled for January 15 to 23 in Morocco.

"Making reference to our letter relating to the postponement of the 25th Men's Senior Africa Nations Cup, the Council of the African Handball Confederation (CAHB) held by video conference decided the rescheduling of the said competition. So the period from June 22 to July 2 was decided for the organisation of the event. Consequently, we kindly invite you to update the registration of your men's national team," a letter from CAHB Secretary General Charles Omboumahou read in part.

Nation Sport understands that CAHB took the decision to postpone the event after receiving a petition from Nigeria protesting the outcome of the draw.

In the initial draw that was conducted last December in Morocco, Nigeria had landed in Pool 'B' alongside Kenya and champions Angola while Pool 'A' featured Egypt, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon and Cameroon.

Tunisia, Cape Verde, Guinea and Senegal form Pool 'C'.

CAHB have however cancelled the draw and a new one will be conducted in June.

Meanwhile, Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) have released the Super Cup draw set to be played on March 5-6 and 12-13.

The annual event brings together the top six men's teams at the completion of the KHF regular season as well as the top four teams from the women's league.

Reigning men's league champions National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) lead Pool 'A' and will battle Black Mamba and Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

Runners-up Strathmore University headline Pool 'B' together with General Service Unit and Kenyatta University.

The women's version will be played in round-robin format. Champions Nairobi Water, KDF, NCPB and Nanyuki will battle for the title.
