Harambee Stars midfielder Ouma joins Czech side Slavia Prague

  • Reports indicate that several English and French clubs were chasing Ouma’s signature. The midfielder joined Elfsborg in 2022 from Kenyan side Nairobi City Stars.
  • He joined City Stars in July 2020 after completing his studies at Laiser Hill Academy. He earned his maiden Hrambee Star call up in October 2021 under former coach Engin Firat. 

Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma has penned a four-year deal with Czech side Slavia Prague.

The 21 time Czech First League champions announced the signing of the 20-year-old Ouma on their social media handles on Sunday.

"It's a great feeling. I'm looking forward to running out on the field, trying to be a valid player, a difference maker. I will strive for it with every move, believe me,” said Ouma in an interview with the club’s media team. 

He continued: "The stadium is beautiful, big. I was only in the city for a short time, but I saw that Prague is beautiful. It's my first time here, I think I'll feel good here,

"It wasn't an easy decision, but I sat down with the agent and we finally agreed that I should go here. That Slavia will be the best choice for me. Slavia is a big team with a lot of representatives. I can't wait to join the players. We'll see how the next part of the season will be for all of us."

Slavia are reported to have parted with a transfer fee of around Sh 473 million for the midfielder from Swedish side IF Elfsborg.

The contract runs up to June 2029.
