Gor Mahia have appointed Sammy "Pamzo" Omollo as assistant coach.

Omollo, a former Gor Mahia defender, is expected to travel with the team for return leg of Caf Confederations Cup play-off against Napsa Stars of Zambia.

He takes up the place of Patrick Odhiambo who left to join Kakamega Homeboyz and will be expected to work closely with Portuguese Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto to steady the ship at the record Kenyan champions.

Omollo, previously with Posta Rangers, took charge of Gor's continental assignments this season as caretaker coach after Brazilian Roberto Oliveira was banned from Caf matches due to lack of requisite coaching papers.

He was however sacked by Posta Rangers following a spate of poor results with former Harambee Stars coach Stanley Okumbi replacing him.
