The Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee has distanced itself from a draft Sh875 million budget circulating online.

Speaking in a press conference at the Kenya National Library in Nairobi on Saturday, Lindah Oguttu, the head of the secretariat, stated that the committee does not have a budget yet.

"The budget circulating online should not be associated with the committee. We are still devising a work plan that will guide our operations. It is only after that we will have a budget in place," Oguttu said.

Oguttu was flanked by Ali Amour, a member of the FKF Caretaker Committee, and Michael Muchemi, the secretariat's secretary.

The controversial budget outlined expenses that Kenyans online found to be outrageous.

It allocates honorarium payment of Sh100 million to the Caretaker Committee and Secretariat members and Sh22.5 million as wages for staff who will support the two committees.

The budget also denotes that the members of the Caretaker Committee and its Secretariat will receive Sh97 million in airtime, mileage, and sitting allowances per applicable Salary and Remuneration Commission (SRC) rates.

Other expenses would have seen the office rent gobbling Sh30 million and Sh 7 million spent on office furniture.

A summary of the other expenses alleged that the Caretaker Committee would spend Sh8 million on stationery, Sh21.4 million on media activities and equipment, Sh10 million on legal fees, Sh20 million on hospitality, h34.4 on transport and garage services and Sh8 million on publicity among others.

Amour also confirmed that the suspended leagues will resume next weekend.

"We are having meetings with stakeholders to come up with a synchronised approach that will see matches resuming next weekend," he said.

"We plan to have talks with the Kenyan Premier League to devise a strategy that will restore order in the operations of the top-flight," he added.

Amour also confirmed that the Caretaker Committee plans to hold meetings with entities already sponsoring the leagues.

"This is a fresh start and, we plan to meet the sponsors to assess the status of their investment with a view of charting a transparent roadmap under the Sports Act," Amour stated.

The trio also addressed the fate of Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat with Amour saying that the Caretaker Committee will engage him to discuss the way forward regarding his contract situation.

"As far as we are concerned, the Sports CS Amina Mohamed is handling all issues to do with Fifa while our role is to run football activities in the country," Muchemi said when asked about the impending Fifa ban.

Oguttu also reiterated the Caretaker Committee will nullify the results of league matches played during the period of the suspension.

"Consider those as friendly matches," Oguttu said.
