Ten National Super League (NSL) matches are lined up this weekend as the second tier league resumes after a two-week suspension.

Announcing the weekend fixtures, Ali Amour of the newly appointed Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee said matches which were played during the suspension period will be treated as friendlies.

The government disbanded the Nick Mwendwa-led FKF over corruption allegations and appointed the caretaker committee under retired Judge Aaron Ringera to take charge for a period of six months until fresh elections are held.

On Saturday, coach Mohammed Hussein Madigi will lead Coastal Heroes formerly Coast Stima when they face neighbours Mombasa Elite (previously known as Modern Coast Rangers) at Serani Complex from 3pm.

Heroes are sitting second on nine points behind APS Bomet, while Mombasa Elite are third on seven.

“We didn’t play enough build ups during the break, but we have a team to put up a sterling performance at Serani,” said Madigi as he hopes to maintain a three-match unbeaten run.

Madigi’s squad will be led by Lucky Kaingu who will partner with Ali Juma in attack, and a win will see them leapfrog APS Bomet at the helm.

Shabana will be at Awendo Stadium to face visiting Zoo. The Kisii-based side have suffered identical 2-1 losses against Premier League side Gor Mahia and Vihiga Bullets in friendly matches before drawing 1-1 in Kisumu and Mbale respectively.

“After two high level friendlies, I’m convinced the boys are ready for any challenge,” said Ojienda.

Vihiga United return to Mumias Complex to host newbies Mara Sugar, while Murang’a Seal will travel to Nairobi to face Dandora Love at Camp Toyoyo.

League leaders APS Bomet on nine points host Muhoroni Youth on Sunday at Bomet Stadium.
