Kenyan athletics stars graduate in Embakasi

  • Others who graduated are Abraham Kibiwott, Vanice Kerubo, Maureen Thomas, Michael Kibet and Doris Chepng'etich.
  • Kibiwott is the 2018 Commonwealth Games 3,000m steeplechase silver medallist, while Kerubo is the reigning Africa Games 400m hurdles champion.

Rhonex Kipruto, Wycliffe Kinyamal, Kumari Taki and Mary Moraa were among 11 athletes who graduated during the Administration Police pass out at the National Police College, Embakasi Monday.

They were among the 2610  officers who had completed the nine months course.

The colourful ceremony was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday.

Kipruto is the 2019 World 10,000m bronze medallist and holds the 10km World Record with a time of 26:24.

The 22-year-old represented Kenya at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games where he finished ninth in the men's 10,000m.

Kinyamal is the reigning Commonwealth Games 800m champion, while Moraa, the 2021 Kip Keino Classic 800m champion, also represented Kenya in women's 800m at the Tokyo Summer Games but lost in the semi-finals.

Taki is the 2016 World Athletics Under-20 Championships 1,500m champion.

Others who graduated are Abraham Kibiwott, Vanice Kerubo, Maureen Thomas, Michael Kibet and Doris Chepng'etich.
