Kipketer becomes the first elite Kenyan athlete to be banned by AIU this year.

Lat year, AIU also banned 2017 World 1,500m champion Elijah Manang'oi for two years for a similar offence.

Former world marathon record holder Wilson Kipsang and 2017 London Marathon champion Daniel Wanjiru were also handed four-year bans for doping offences in 2020.
