  • In the Little General Election in 1966, the Senate dissolved itself for a single Parliament.
  • In the 1969 Kanu Elections, two key Luo politicians, who played a leading role in the Lancaster negotiations, died in the same year.
  • In the 1974 Reality Check Elections, a decade after Independence, the promised goodies remained elusive.
