Jakakimba quits ODM as party picks Homa Bay candidate

Homa Bay senatorial aspirant Silas Ouko Jakakimba has quit Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Mr Jakakimba announced his decision hours after the party picked Moes Kajwang’, the younger brother of the late Otieno Kajwang’ as its preferred candidate.
Mr Caroli Omondi, another hopeful, however accepted the party’s verdict and promised to continue supporting the party.
In a letter addressed to the party copied to the registrar of political parties, Jakakimba said he should be struck off the register of members as well.
“I take this opportunity to thank the party and the leader Raila Amollo Odinga for the opportunity to serve the party over the year,” he said.
