Man stabs wife to death, commits suicide in Nakuru

A 38 year old man on Saturday stabbed his wife to death before committing suicide at Freehold estate in Nakuru town.

Nakuru Deputy Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Janet Wasike who confirmed the incident said the two were identified as Jack Omondi and Olivia Osidiana, 36.

“The man is believed to have stabbed his wife to death before hanging himself in the house using a rope. The wife had several stab wounds on her body, which may have resulted to her death,”said the police boss.

I April, this year, the Nation published a story of the deceased Ms Osidiana who was detained by a private hospital when she was unable to pay a hospital bill.

She had delivered her second born baby boy but could not raise Sh500, 000 required bill.

However, she was released after Governor Kinuthia Mbugua and County Assembly Speaker Susan Kihika cleared the bill.

The police boss said, that police were alerted on Saturday morning, by neighbours who heard a child crying long after the incident had happened.

Police arrived at the scene at around 11am and broke into the house where they discovered the bodies.

“The body of the man was found hanging on a rope in the house,” said Ms Wasike, adding that police had started investigations into the incident.

The two had a troubled marriage and quarrelled frequently, we suspect the incident happened because of the differences,” said Ms Hussein.

The bodies were taken to Nakuru Municipal mortuary.
