Kenya's Covid-19 cases rise to 71,729

Kenya’s total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases rose to 71,729 on Tuesday with 925 more positive test results.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said 893 of the new patients are Kenyans and 32 foreigners.

These cases were found following the testing of 5,559 samples, which raised the total number of samples Kenya has tested so far to 798,585.

Death toll

Kenya's first case of the coronavirus was confirmed on March 13 and by November 17, the country's death toll was 1,302.

In a statement on Tuesday, the minister said 15 more patients had died.

Mr Kagwe noted, however, that Kenya had discharged 1,018 patients. This raised the country's total number of recoveries to 47,262.
