Kenya records no Covid-19 death in 24 hours

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe confirmed on Sunday that 124 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, raising the total infections to 96,802.

The CS said that the new cases were from a sample size of 2,855.

From the new cases, 100 were Kenyans while 24 were foreigners.

The youngest is a three-year-old child while the oldest is 86.

Mr Kagwe said that 216 people have recovered from the virus; 178 from the home-based care programme and 38 from various hospitals.

The total number of recoveries is 79,073.

The Ministry further noted that there was no fatality in the last 24 hours; the number of deaths remains at 1,685.

Currently, there are 650 patients admitted in various health facilities countywide while 2,934 are in home-based care.

Twenty- three more patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 12 of whom are on ventilatory support while 11 on supplemental oxygen.

Three patients are under observation.

Another 19 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen while 19 are in general wards.
