Kenya records 92 new Covid-19 cases, three more deaths

Kenya has recorded 92 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours from 2,985 samples, bringing the tally to 36,393.

Another 165 patients have been discharged raising the total recoveries to 23,529, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi said during the daily Covid-19 briefing.

Nairobi accounted for the majority of the new cases with 25, mostly in Westlands (5), Dagoretti North, Embakasi South, Kamukunji, Langata, Makadara, Roysambu and Ruaraka with two cases each. Embakasi Central, East and West had a case each as did Kibra and Kasarani.

Mombasa had 20 cases from Mvita (15), Kisauni and Nyali (20), and Jomvu had one. The eight cases in Nakuru came from Nakuru West (6), Naivasha and Nakuru with a case each.

The other counties with less than ten cases included Garissa (7), Uasin Gishu(6), Kisumu (5) while Turkana and Kiambu had four cases each. Kakamega had three cases while Kajiado, Busia and Machakos had a case each.

Dr Mwangangi also announced that three patients died taking the death toll to 637.
