The Nation Media Group (NMG) has partnered with Jambojet to fly delegates to Kisumu County for the Kusi Ideas festival that takes place next week.

NMG External Affairs and Marketing head Clifford Machoka said the airline would offer affordable transport to delegates and company employees.

“We are proud to have Jambo jet as a partner,” Mr Machoka said.

The airline also partnered with NMG during the inaugural Kusi Ideas festival in Kigali, Rwanda in December last year.

“NMG and Jambojet believe in driving African ideas forward. Through this partnership, we are working to ensure Africans ideas are supported,” he said.

NMG workers taking part in the festival would not be required to pay for tickets.

Mr Machoka said the objective of the festival is to build a “pan-African ideas transaction market” to capitalise on the many opportunities and innovations available on the continent.

“This year, participants shall focus on finding ways to help African countries fight the Covid-19 pandemic,” Mr Machoka added .

The number of registered virtual conference attendants had grown to 2,500 by yesterday.

Jambojet acting MD Karanja Ndegwa said the airline is proud to work with NMG.

“The partnership gives us a chance to carry NMG staff and delegates to Kisumu,” he said.

Mr Ndegwa added that delegates will apply for tickets online, in compliance with the Ministry of Health coronavirus health guidelines and protocols.

Jambojet is a local company. It recently launched direct flights from Kisumu to Mombasa.
