The anti-graft agency Thursday conducted the biggest swoop in Nakuru and arrested 10 traffic officers for allegedly receiving bribes from motorists.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials also recovered Sh100 and Sh1,000 notes from the traffic officers manning the Kiti, Eveready and Shiners checkpoints.

EACC spokesperson Yasin Amaro said they conducted the swoop after receiving numerous complaints from motorists that traffic officers manning the checkpoints were notorious in receiving bribes.

The officers, who are being held at Nakuru Railways Police Station, will be charged on Friday with engaging in corruption.
